clark baumann - Southern pacific RR &

CR&B RR (HO)

Clark Baumann’s Layout is located in Burbank.

This HO garage layout  has two decks and  features two railroads, the Southern Pacific  of  the  late 1960s  to  early  1970s,  and  Clark's own fictitious CR&B RR, a short line with lots of switching.  The  upper  level   scenery  is  based  on  the  Tehachapi  area..  Clark  used  town  names  from  the  area,  but  none  of  the  models  represent  anything  that  is or was  there.  The   lower  level  is  a  mixture  of  Bakersfield  and  the  Burbank  branch.   The  railroad  supports  operations  by  up  to  four  operators  with  a  dispatcher located  in  the  room.   Car  routing,  scheduling,  manifests,  and  switch  lists  are  managed  using the JMRI  computer program.    Every hour, an automated passenger run is made by either the San Joaquin Daylight, the San Francisco Chief, or the California Zephyr.
