Illinois Central Gulf – Alton District

Joe and Tony are constructing an HO scale railroad based on the ICG Alton District in 1984 from Godfrey, IL to Wood River, IL (a 10-mile area). The 400 foot mainline run includes a 26 track run-through staging yard, a seven turn helix and a double-deck swing gate to enter layout. Industries include Peavey Mills, Owens-Illinois Glass, Laclede Steel, Winchester Ammunition, Alton Box Board, Amoco Refining, Clark Refining and Shell Refining are the major on-line industries.
